EEaster: Jesus’ last days before his crucifixion were a time of suffering, filled with pain, loss and temptation. But still He prayed from the depths of His despair; ‘not My will, but Your will be done!’ We long for that strength, to be that rock. Like Peter; filled with zeal, steadfast. But even a Peter cannot resist to deny His Savior and sink in the sea. That’s why we can lean on a Messiah who is that rock. He has already done it for us. We can simply lean on Him. This song is quite appropriate for solo singers & choir taking turns. The fading, contemplative finish stands still at the cup of The Lord’s Supper.
